Each plate is almost 5 inches across!
This is a split pair plant fossil from the now-closed location at St. Clair, Pennsylvania. The distinct fern fossil is preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale - quite striking! The detail of the fossil is just amazing, and the individual fern frond is nicely showcased and naturally spaced on the large plate of shale. And it is a split pair, and both fossils are included here.
This is a split pair plate of classic white seed fern fossils from the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania - very cool!
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS.com is included with this specimen.
